Elaine M. Degenhardt
Elaine M. Degenhardt, 78, of 1607 S. Maple Ave., died on Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2006, at the Bethel Center in Arpin.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 20, at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Don Meuret officiating. Burial will be in Brooklawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in the town of Richfield, Wood County.
The pallbearers will be Wayne Blawat, David Bielen, Brian Degenhardt, Keith Bielen, Nick Blawat and Patrick Blawat. Honorary pallbearers will be great-grandchildren Dylan Bielen and Lauren Blawat.
Visitations will be from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. Sunday at Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home and again from 10:30 a.m. until time of the services Monday at the church. There will be a combined rosary service with the parish and Parish Council of Catholic Women Society at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Elaine was born June 7, 1928, in Marshfield. She was a 1945 graduate of Loyal High School and united in marriage Nov. 16, 1948, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Loyal to Paul L. Degenhardt.
She worked part time at Bezak's Shoe Store and later at the Coast to Coast Store, both in Abbotsford, Wis.
Elaine is survived by her husband, Paul; three daughters, Debbie (Wayne) Blawat of Big Bend, Dixie Degenhardt of Marshfield and Sandy (Dave) Bielen of Marshfield; four grandchildren, Brian (Jenny Gollon, fiancee) Degenhardt of Marshfield, Keith (Stephane) Bielen of Green Bay, Nick (Erica) Blawat of Chicago, Patrick (Suzy) Blawat of Madison and two great-grandchildren, Dylan Bielen of Green Bay and Lauren Blawat of Madison.
She is further survived by a sister, Arlene Christman of Marshfield; "adopted" sister, June Anderson of Marshfield; two sisters-in-law, Claudine Gotter of Eau Claire and Joyce Gotter of Mosinee.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennifer Bielen; seven brothers, Harley and Richard in infancy, Celen, Harvey, Elroy, Rueben and Ronnie; and a sister, Lorene.
The family would like to thank the staff at Bethel Center for the wonderful care Elaine received.
Our mother was neither an anchor to hold us back, nor a sail to take us there, but always a guiding light whose love showed us the way.
